Pine, original paint, well carved figures of two horses with riders in full racing pose. Probably from a carnival game. Mounted on to later wooden bases. 2nd Quarter 20th C.
A steeplechase is a distance horse race in which competitors are required to jump diverse fence and ditch obstacles.
Both are marked #6.
Good condition. No damage or repairs. Some paint flaking on the lighter horses jockey.
