Free Standing 19th Century Butter Mold Lion
“The practice of making free standing figures in butter was very popular in Great Britain.”
Two wooden pegs held the sides together to create a 3 dimensional butter mold (one peg is missing)

The lion is skillful and realistically carved.

Condition: As found. Patina as expected from age & use. No damage.
