Rare Antique Ice Skates Forged Blades 6” Curl circa 1850's

These beautiful handmade Antique Ice Skates, circa 1850's, have forged iron blades with  VERY large curls -  6 " (one of the largest I have ever had for sale). Old original dark red paint.

They are beautifully proportioned. The wood platforms are tapered in the middle. The screws at the heel are to prevent boot slippage. No makers marks evident. The footbeds are marked for (R) & (L)

Approximate Dimensions: Length of footbed  10" Of entire skate 12’. Height of the curl 6.25".
