Pair of 18th Century Spiral Courting Candlesticks
A carefully twisted strip of forged iron provides a continuous screw adjustment of the candle for positioning the flame. The strip was then inserted into the wooden base (see photos). There is evidence of initials impressed into the iron.
Hand made in England circa 1750.

Condition: As found, no damage or repairs evident.
